Removing hair of the chest and back for wrestling

It is compulsory for those who take part in wrestling competitions to remove the hair of the chest and the back.  Does the Shariah permit this?

Removing the hair of the chest and the back is not forbidden and impermissible, but it is against propriety and it is better not to remove them.  Allama Ibn Abideen Shaami (May Allah shower His mercy on him) has declared it against propriety.

As given in Radd Ul Muhtaar, Vol. 5, Pg. No. 882:

Translation: Removing the hair of the chest and the back is against propriety.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
