Is using Facebook allowed

Is using Facebook allowed or should Muslims boycott it?

Through Facebook, good deeds are also done and bad deeds are also done.  Thus, the ruling about Facebook will be according to how it is used.  There is a principle in the Shariah:  Dealings are according to their aims.

If we abandon these things, there is a chance that this will lead to even dangerous consequences.  On the other hand, if we oppose them using the same thing, then at least to an extent, we can answer the objections against Islam.  How nice it would be that good is spread from the very source from where evil is spread.

If Muslims keep using this, then when the need arises, a step taken there can be very useful.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
