Using hens, eggs, etc. for treating black magic

I have heard about an A'alim that he uses lemons, coconuts and black hens to remove the effects of black magic and recites something in Arabic.  Is doing so allowed?

The Holy Quran is guidance as well as healing for the whole universe.  It is permissible to use the verses of the Holy Quran or other Dua along with permissible (Halal) animals and things.  Distributing them among the poor and the beggars is an appreciable act.  However, killing any animal in any other way excepting by slaughtering (Dhibah) is not allowed.  This is an act of oppression against the poor animals.  The Shariah does not like this at all.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has prohibited killing any animal by burying it partially or tying it and then shooting an arrow at it, as this is like hurting a live creature.  The same 'Illah (reason) holds good in killing an animal by severing its head or burying it alive.  It is given in Musnad Imam Ahmed:

Translation:  It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abdullah bin Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) once passed by a group of Ansar who had tied a pigeon to shoot at it.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Do not tie a living creature to shoot at it.  (Musnad Imam Ahmed, Hadith No: 2571; Mo’jam Kabeer, Hadith No: 12097).

It is also not allowed to make a picture or a puppet of any living creature to undo the effects of magic.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
